The Church of St. Mary of Casale, erected around the beginning of the 14th century, combines the last legacies of Apulian Romanesque architecture with the first Gothic additions, enriched by decorative motifs of Sicilian-Arab ancestry. Declared National Monument in 1875, it has a sober and elegant architectural structure. It has reached our days almost completely free of alterations and inside it preserves a cycle of beautiful frescoes. The adjacent convent was completed by the Observant Minorites between 1635 and 1638.
